
05 July 1851 - Annibale Maria Di Francia's birth in Messina, Italy - his parents are Marquis Francis Di Francia and Anna Toscano. (Annibale Maria Di Francia is also known by his anglicized name of 'Hannibal Mary Di Francia'.)
1858 - Annibale enters St Nicolo's school, run by the Cistercian Fathers.
1868 - He has the intuition of the necessity of prayer for Vocations: he receives what he calls "Understanding the Rogate". Later, he discovers in the Gospel the divine command of Jesus: "Pray therefore to the Lord of the harvest to send workers into his harvest." (Mt 9:38; Lk 10:2)
03 - 04 March 1878 - He meets, providentially, in an alley of Messina, Francis Zancone, a beggar.
1878 - He starts his apostolate for human, social and Christian promotion with the abandoned people of "Avignone Quarter".
16 March 1878 - He is ordained as priest by Monsignor G Guarino.
08 September 1882 - He inaugurates the first female orphanage.
1885 - He puts up a printing press and publishes the first prayer for obtaining "Good Workers" to the holy Church.
01 July 1886 - With the approval of the Archbishop and after two years preparation, Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament comes "to remain forever" in the first chapel of Avignone Quarter. This event will be celebrated every year in a very solemn way by Saint Annibale and his followers.
19 March 1887 - He founds the Congregation of the Daughters of Divine Zeal.
October 1887 - Institution of the "Bread of St Anthony's for the Orphans" during epidemic of cholera.
16 May 1897 - Saint Annibale initiates the Congregation of the Rogationists.
22 November 1897 - The "Priestly Alliance for Vocations" is instituted in order to promote to the clergy the prayer for Vocations.
08 December 1900 - The Union of Prayer for Vocations (formerly Association of Prayer for Vocations) for the lay people is started by Saint Annibale.
26 June 1908 - He starts the magazine "God and Neighbour".
28 December 1908 - A terrifying earthquake hits Messina: eighty thousand people die. No casualties among the orphans, seminarians and aspirants while thirteen sisters die and the houses of Saint Annibale are totally destroyed.
06 August 1926 - Diocesan Approval of the two religious Congregations.
01 June 1927 - Saint Annibale dies in Messina.
1945 - 1952 - Diocesan Process for the Beatification of Fr Annibale.
1980 - Apostolic Process for Annibale's Beatification.
13 October 1987 - Diocesan Process for the miraculous recovery of Gleida Ferreira Danese, through the intercession of Fr Annibale.
21 December 1989 - John Paul II promulgates the Decree about the Heroic Virtues of Fr Annibale declaring him "Venerable".
07 October 1990 - Solemn Beatification of Fr Annibale in Rome, Italy.
19 February 2004 - John Paul II announces news of Fr Annibale's canonization in the Ordinary Public Consistory, Clementine Hall, Vatican Palace, Rome, Italy.
16 May 2004 - Solemn Eucharistic Celebration, presided by the Holy Father John Paul II, for the canonization of Fr Annibale at 10:00am (6:00pm EST Australia) in St Peter's Square, Rome, Italy.
