Priestly Alliance for Vocations

The Priestly Alliance for Vocations (PAV) was founded by Saint Annibale Maria Di Francia on 22 November 1897. This association is intended to unite the clergy - bishops and priests - in a deeper commitment to personal growth in their priestly spirituality through prayer and care for vocations.

Goal

The main idea of the PAV comes from the words of Jesus: "Pray therefore to the Lord of the harvest to send workers into his harvest." (Mt 9:38; Lk 10:2) For this purpose the members of the PAV commit themselves to:

• Pray for vocations in union with Christ and his Church.
• Spread this prayer for vocations everywhere according to their pastoral activities.
• Support any form of promotion and animation of vocations in their apostolate, especially in fostering vocations to the priesthood, religious life, secular institutes, and missions.
